Saudi Arabia: Bangladeshi man arrested for killing wife on Eid Al Fitr in Mecca

Dubai: A Bangladeshi national has been arrested for allegedly attacking his wife with a knife and acid in Mecca Province on Eid Al Fitr, killing her and another woman while injuring several others, Saudi authorities said.

According to Mecca Region Police, the assault occurred as the woman was stepping off a company bus operated by a maintenance firm.

The attack was reportedly linked to a domestic dispute.

The suspect attempted to take his own life by pouring acid on himself but was apprehended at the scene. Legal proceedings are underway.
