A Public Authority for Radio and Television has been created in Oman following a Royal Decree

Muscat: A new Public Authority for Radio and Television (PART) has been created in Oman following a Royal Decree by Sultan Qaboos Bin Saeed Saturday.

The Omani leader also appointed Dr Abdullah Bin Nasser Bin Khalifa Al Harassi as the President of the newly created PART with the rank of a minister.

Nasser Bin Sulaiman Bin Hamad Al Shibani has been appointed as the Vice-President of the General Authority for Radio.

Hitherto, the government run radio and television were under the jurisdiction of Ministry of Information.
