Muscat: Sixteen people, including a 10-year-old Omani girl, were killed in road accidents in various part of the country, according to the Royal Oman Police (ROP).
The ROP said that the girl was run over by a speeding car on one of the roads of Musanah town in northern Oman.
The ROP urged motorists to abide by the speed limits. The police have asked motorists to take extra precaution in areas where children cross the roads.
Besides 16 deaths, 127 accidents were also recorded in a week, with 170 residents receiving moderate to serious injuries.
