Georgia opposition vows rally against rigged vote

Tbilisi: Georgia's main opposition coalition vowed to bring about 100,000 people on to the streets of the capital on Wednesday to protest against the parliamentary election which it says is being rigged by the authorities.

"I think President Mikheil Saakashvili's ruling party is doing everything to falsify the polls," Levan Gachechiladze, the leader of the main opposition coalition, said after casting
his vote at a polling station in Tbilisi.

"In the evening we will hold a huge rally - 100,000 people will come out and we are going to announce the true results of the poll," he said.
