Kabul: Militants ambushed a Nato force in eastern Afghanistan on Thursday, an alliance spokeswoman said, adding that there had been casualties.

The ambush took place in Kunar, just hours after a soldier of Nato's International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) died in a separate attack of the insurgents in another area of the province which borders Pakistan, she said.

The attack comes just one day after four US soldiers were killed by a roadside bomb in southeast Afghanistan.
