Dubai: The tax raids on the Indian Premier League (IPL) chairman Lalit Modi's office has taken a new turn. Tax authorities have got hold of CCTV footage of a woman allegedly taking bid documents from Modi's office, just thirty minutes before the tax raid.
Income tax sources told an Indian television that a deliberate attempt has been made to hide some documents from Modi's room at the Four Seasons Hotel, Mumbai. The woman has been identified but the tax officials were not willing to divulge her name.
According to the CCTV footage, the woman left the room with a laptop and bag full of files. It is understood that Modi, so far, has been able to present few documents of the IPL, but not all of them. Modi's office at Nirlon House in Worli, Mumbai, has also been raided.
