Dubai is experiencing a mix of sunny to partly cloudy weather conditions this afternoon, accompanied by strong northwesterly winds and turbulent seas, according to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM).

The NCM has issued a weather alert warning residents of fresh northwesterly winds reaching speeds of up to 40 km/h, with offshore wave heights in the Arabian Gulf expected to peak at 8 feet. The advisory remains in effect until 2pm, Saturday, April 19.

Residents are urged to follow safety precautions, particularly near the coast. The NCM has advised the public to:

  • Refrain from swimming or diving during rough sea conditions.

  • Avoid marine activities and heading out to sea during this period.

Looking ahead, the weather on Saturday is forecast to be fair to partly cloudy at times, with increased humidity by night and into Sunday morning—especially over some northern internal areas, where fog or mist may develop.

Moderate to fresh northwesterly winds will persist, stirring up blowing dust and sand at speeds ranging from 10–25 km/h, occasionally gusting up to 40 km/h. The sea will remain rough to moderate in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.

For continuous updates on weather conditions and temperatures across the UAE, residents are encouraged to follow the National Center of Meteorology’s official channels.
