Temperatures soar up to 50.2°C, despite rainfall in some parts of UAE

The Met Office also forecasts convective cloud formations to continue until Friday

Dubai: Scorching temperatures were reported today across the UAE, despite rainfall in some parts of the country.

According to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM), temperatures crossed 50.2°C this afternoon in Al Dhaid, Sharjah at 2pm. And the lowest temperature recorded today was 27.1°C in Damtha, Al Ain at 5am.

Despite the scorching temperature, rainfall was reported over some parts of the country – including parts of Sharjah, Fujairah and Khor Fakkan. The forecast states the probability of some convective clouds formation – especially eastward of the country, will continue until Friday, July 18.

Residents will also experience a rise in temperatures this week along with blowing dust, which may cause a deterioration in horizontal visibility, as wind speeds will reach up to 40 km/hr.
