Investigation launched to determine cause of blaze in Umm Al Quwain on Friday afternoon
Umm Al Quwain: Firefighting teams from the Civil Defence Department in Umm Al Quwain responded swiftly to a major fire that broke out on Friday afternoon at a factory in the Umm Al Thaoub Industrial Area.
Authorities confirmed that no injuries or fatalities were reported. Emergency crews acted promptly to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby buildings.
Efforts to fully extinguish the fire went on till late night , while an assessment of the damage was currently under way, Umm Al Quwain Civil Defence said. Investigations have also been launched to determine the cause of the incident.
Major General Dr. Jassim Mohammed Al Marzouqi, Commander-in-Chief of Civil Defence, was present at the scene, along with Ahmed Salem bin Shaqwi, Deputy Director of the Civil Defence Department in Umm Al Quwain.
Major General Al Marzouqi expressed his heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all Civil Defence partners and teams for their swift and coordinated efforts in protecting lives and safeguarding property.
The Civil Defence Department in Umm Al Quwain received strong support from several entities, including the Umm Al Quwain Police General Headquarters, Sharjah Civil Defence Authority, Ajman Civil Defence, Ras Al Khaimah Civil Defence, the Emergency, Crisis, and Disaster Management Centre in Umm Al Quwain, Umm Al Quwain Municipality, Etihad Water and Electricity Company, and the National Ambulance.
The Civil Defence has reiterated the importance of adhering to safety protocols in industrial zones, and has urged all factories to ensure full compliance with fire prevention measures to avoid similar occurrences.
