UAE-based couple's online 'ode to romance'

Dubai: Forget shouting from the rooftops - you would not be heard past the local post office. By registering a domain on the World Wide Web, a UAE-based couple have gone global with their love story.

The makers of fahadandfarhat.com - Fahad Sharaf Al Deen and Farhat Shenaz and their online 'ode to love' would make Bollywood green with envy.

"We needed a platform to talk about our struggle [to obtain permission] to get married. A website was perfect," Fahad Sharaf Al Deen told Gulf News.

A visitor to the site is greeted by a mellow rendition of the Bollywood track Is Pal Main Hoon (I'm in this moment), while a click on the 'Our Story' icon takes the person through the couple's romance.

As mentioned on the home page, 'there is something for everyone', including a poll question on honeymoon choices and a quiz competition with prizes!

Sharaf Al Deen intends to add more features, following their marriage on April 17.

"This is not the end. We intend to upload wedding pictures, categorising them based on ceremonies ... include the best and the worst dressed people, the most funny looking guests and such," he added.

To date, 800 visitors have logged on and still counting.
