Dubai Police Criminal Investigation Department (CID) arrested two men who had gone on a wild shopping spree with pirated credit cards.
The CID received a tip off that two Asians were using credit cards to buy two very expensive wristwatches from a commercial centre in Dubai.
The salesman asked the men to produce identity cards, and noticed that the entry date to the UAE in one of the passports was not there. It was then that he suspected the credit cards were pirated. A CID squad was dispatched to the centre, and arrested the fraudsters.
The squad confiscated two hand bags, which contained clothes, perfume, and other high price items, which they had charged to the pirated credit cards.
Two forged passports and 40 pirated credit cards were also confiscated. The men confessed that they obtained the pirated cards from an Asian national, who gave them the card on condition that they share the loot.
