Dubai: The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced traffic delays and temporary road closures on key roads in Dubai as part of ongoing infrastructure upgrades.
In a statement issued on its official social media channels, the RTA confirmed that a section of Dubai–Al Ain Road (E66) will face delays and closures from 12:00am on June 13 until 12:00am on June 26, due to bridge maintenance works.
Expect delays on Dubai–Al Ain Road (E66) towards Dubai at the intersection with Jebel Ali–Lehbab Road (E77).
The exit from Dubai–Al Ain Road to Jebel Ali–Lehbab Road (from Al Ain towards Jebel Ali) will be closed. Use the next exit on E66 as an alternative route.
The exit from Jebel Ali–Lehbab Road to Dubai–Al Ain Road (E66) (from Jebel Ali towards Dubai) will also be closed. Use the next exit on E77 instead.
The RTA has urged all motorists to plan their journeys in advance, expect additional travel time, and use alternative routes to minimise delays.

These diversions come as part of a larger traffic improvement initiative announced by the RTA, targeting 40 key locations across Dubai from June to September 2025.
Key components of the campaign include:
Upgrades on 22 major roads
Improvements in nine school zones
Enhancements in five major development areas
Local network upgrades in communities such as Al Khawaneej 2 and Nad Al Sheba
Timed to coincide with the summer holidays to reduce the impact on daily traffic, the project aims to boost road safety and streamline traffic flow throughout the city.
Highlights of the infrastructure upgrades include:
Intersection enhancements for smoother traffic movement
Safer school zones with improved access and pedestrian crossings
Better connectivity in fast-growing areas like Al Muhaisnah and Nad Al Hamar
