Pre-paid cards to help truck drivers at Sharjah toll gates

Sharjah:The Sharjah Department of Public Works announced that road toll prepaid cards for truck drivers will be available in denominations of Dh100 and Dh25 at the administrative headquarters of the toll gate.

The cards will be available 24 hours a day and during working hours in the Department's headquarters in Al Nassiriyah in Sharjah and its branches in Al Dhaid, Khor Fakkan and Kalba.

Omran Al Khamiri, the traffic toll gate project manager, thanked all companies working in the transport field adding that the project is proceeding according to schedule in its first phase.

He also said that the prepaid cards will enable their carriers to give in the receipt at the gate without having to go through the routine procedures of paying at the cashier.

Al Khamiri added that this new system came as a result of requests made by transport companies to facilitate the procedure at the toll gates, in addition to ease the annual financial operations and accounts of all these companies.

The Sharjah Executive Council had issued a decision on levying toll fees from truckers using the toll gate in Sharjah.
