Dubai-Sharjah traffic: Motorists face congestion on E11, E311 and other key routes

Dubai-Sharjah commuters should expect delays on some of the busiest roads as congestion builds on key routes and road improvement works continue across Sharjah.

Live Google Maps shows Al Ittihad Road (E11) remains one of the main pressure points, particularly around Al Taawun, Sahara Centre and Al Nahda. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road (E311) is also prone to slow-moving traffic through Sharjah’s industrial areas and Muwaileh, with conditions changing throughout the day. It has also shown congestion on Maleha Street and roads around Safari Mall and Muwaileh Bus Terminal.

Motorists should also be aware of ongoing roadworks. A section of the dual carriageway alongside Al Hazana is partially closed until August 28, affecting traffic travelling from Saeed bin Obaid Al Jarwan Square towards Sheikh Mohammed bin Sultan Bu Alian Square. Drivers have been asked to follow approved diversions and allow extra time.

A temporary traffic diversion is also in place at the intersection of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street and Mleiha Street for road improvement works. The diversion is scheduled to remain until December 6.

Drivers should check live navigation updates before setting out, avoid sudden lane changes and follow temporary signs around work zones.
