Henna is no longer found on the hands only. It has now become a snazzy, jazzy, glittery option to temporary body tattoos. Don't even think of looking for bindis on the forehead, as they were traditionally worn. Now, they are sold as jewelled body stickers. The most popular area to stick them on is just above a plunging neckline. Last but not the least are the nose-rings. Well, these are no longer restricted to the nose, and are pierced on to any and every part of the body. Be it eyebrows, tongues, lips or belly buttons.

So, what else has the East to offer to the international fashion scene?
Well, the answer lies not on your fingertips but your toes. Toe rings! These are now officially the most sought-after adornments for feet by young girls, and, believe it or not, even boys!

Toe rings have actually been around for centuries. They were worn by women from the sub-continent as a sign of being married. But these days, they are considered cool accessories. Married or not, they are just the in thing that even school girls are pining for.

Rees and Tanzy, who are eight and 10 respectively, can't wait to get one for each toe. Rees had a particularly hard time deciding between hearts or teddy bears. But it's not just the girls. People have even spotted men with these in their open sandals. I guess if the guys can wear earrings, what's stopping them to head for the toes.

Toe rings look exactly like rings for fingers do, except they are adjustable. Some of them are embossed with shapes, like butterflies. You can find them in silver or brass. Whichever you choose, thick or thin, they are the latest fad.
More and more of the world's fashion trends seem to be emerging from Asia. I guess soon, saris and kimonos will become as much a part of our wardrobe as trousers and skirts are today.
