Toddler to stay with foster family

Fujairah: As fruitless efforts to track down the family of the abandoned Fujairah toddler continued, it emerged that the police were finally ready to place the child with a foster family.

Offers have poured in to adopt the baby girl found abandoned on Monday morning in the Merasheed area of Fujairah.

The girl was found by an Emirati man, who at first thought she was separated from her family.

The man suspected foul play when he found a bag with the child's belongings and could not track down any family member.

So he contacted the police.
