Three-member Indian family killed in horrific accident

Ras Al Khaimah/Abu Dhabi: A family of three was wiped out instantly when their car's tyre burst, sending the vehicle crashing into a truck on Al Saeedi Road in Ras Al Khaimah.

The family from the south Indian state of Kerala was returning to Abu Dhabi after seeing off relatives to Kozhikode at Ras Al Khaimah airport.

The deceased have been identified as Naushad, 33, a pharmacist, his wife Shaniba, 25, and their 4-year-old daughter Nashwah.

The Indian driver, whose truck was loaded with empty gas cylinders, is fighting for his life, hospital sources said.

Shaniba's father Abdul Gafoor and mother Suleikha were not in a position to speak when Gulf News visited their home.

Abdul Gafoor, hailing from Thrissur, has been working in Abu Dhabi for about 20 years and his family joined him about eight years back.
