Brother, sister to release Tamil music album

The Tamil Nadu Cultural Association, Dubai will be officially releasing the Tamil pop audio album, Sparisam (touch) today at 7.30pm at the Indian Consulate Auditorium, Dubai. The album has 10 songs sung by siblings, Kaarthik Ram and Janani Raman and is based on the theme of Love.

Hailing from a family of talented singers and artists, Kaarthik Ram and Janani Raman, started learning music from a very young age. They have won many accolades at the Inter-School, Inter-College and Inter-University Levels in India. They have won prizes in Sapthaswarangal, a popular music contest programme on Sun TV.

They have also sung songs for a recent Tamil film titled Plus Two. Kaarthik and Janani are multi-lingual singers and sing in Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, English, French and Badugu (Nilgiri's tribal language). According to Kaarthik and Janani, "we have been inspired all along by our parents and owe this success to them".

Two songs from the album are currently being filmed in the Dubai Media City. Janani says, "The album is about the many aspects of love and how it can be expressed. We have tried to combine all the facets in the songs."

About the video shoot in Dubai, Kaarthik says, "Dubai is a good base as we have lived here. We will be filming in Al Ain and many shopping malls too."

According to Mr.Raghuraman, father of Janani and Kaarthik, "this is the first Tamil pop audio album to be released in Dubai. It was released in India on February 14."

The evening will be graced by reputed Tamil film director and actor Yuhi Sethu who has acted in Kamal Hassan's recent Tamil film, Panchanthanthiram. Yuhi Sethu is a well-known face to South Indian audiences, and will be doing a comedy talk show as a part of the programme.

The programme also includes dances and a light music concert. Admission is open to all on a first-cum-first-served basis.
