Sharjah Charity exhibition support low-income families with affordable essentials

Sharjah: Sharjah Charity Association has launched the sixth edition of its charitable exhibition “Ghaith 6” at Expo Al Dhaid, offering low-income families access to new household goods and clothing at symbolic prices.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Association’s Board of Directors, who toured the pavilions..

The opening was attended by Abdullah Sultan bin Khadem, Executive Director, Dr. Mohammed bin Howaiden Al Ketbi, Director of the Al Dhaid branch, along with officials, dignitaries, and residents from the Central Region.

Dr. Al Ketbi praised the continued support of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for charitable initiatives across the emirate. He said the exhibition aims to assist families in need by providing affordable access to essential items including ready-made clothing, household products, handicrafts, and food prepared by productive families.

According to the association, the exhibition showcases only brand-new items donated by benefactors, contributing to a sustainable income stream that supports charitable projects benefiting nearly 6,000 families. The event also includes workshops on weaving, textile crafts, and basic printing techniques.

The three-day exhibition drew strong public turnout from its opening hours, with families expressing appreciation for the initiative and its role in easing financial burdens while promoting community support.

Free health services at 16th medical camp

As part of the exhibition’s activities, the association also organised its 16th medical camp, offering visitors free health screenings in cooperation with partnering healthcare institutions.

The camp provides general medical checkups, dental and eye examinations, early breast cancer screening, geriatric assessments, kidney, and internal medicine consultations, as well as nutritional guidance. More than 500 families are expected to benefit from the services.

The camp is part of the association’s ongoing efforts to promote health awareness among its beneficiaries, particularly low-income families who may face difficulty accessing such tests due to their cost. The association has made these services freely available to support their health and well-being.
