Dubai: Parents have complained that despite paying exorbitant fees, a Dubai-based private school offers bad quality food at its cafeteria.

The fees ranges from Dh53,000 for nursery to Dh92,000 for grade 12 at the Gems World Academy on the Al Khail Road.

Parents and pupils who spoke to Gulf News requested anonymity and said that they have taken up the matter with the school authorities.

"My son attends high school and he comes home complaining that there is hardly enough food for all in the school cafeteria. Children get to eat cold sandwiches. The location of the school is such that you cannot get a pack of biscuits," said a parent.

"What is the use of paying exorbitant fees when the children are not provided with food, leave alone quality food? It should be the school's priority to sort out whatever problems they are facing with their catering services," said another parent.
