Ministry holds awareness campaign for labourers at Yas Island

Abu Dhabi: The Ministry of Labour held an open day awareness campaign on labour law and the midday break in open places at Yas Island Tuesday.

The awareness lectures were held in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior, Health Authority - Abu Dhabi and Mirdif Security and Safety Consultants under sponsorship of Al Dar Properties PSJC.

Maher Al Obad, acting director general at the ministry lauded the support garnered by the supervisory team, the organiser of the open awareness day.

He stressed that the ministry was keen to boost contacts with labour market forces through launching initiatives and creative solutions to achieve the objectives outlined in the federal government strategic plan, notably, protection of workers and employers rights.

The workers were briefed about the initiatives of the Ministry of Labour in three languages: Arabic, English and Urdu.

On his part, Sami Assad, Chief Operating Officer of Al Dar Properties PSJC, expressed his pleasure about hosting the open day at labour accommodations at Yas Island, where about 40,000 workers live.
