The Kuwait Red Crescent said yesterday it would donate $500,000 to the U.S. Red Cross to support families of victims in last week's massive terror attacks.
"This donation comes within the framework of the Kuwait Red Crescent's role to help peoples of the world face a catastrophe or danger," Secretary-General Samiha al-Fulaih told the official Kuwait News Agency.
Kuwait, which strongly condemned the unprecedented attacks with hijacked passenger aircraft, often expresses its deep gratitude for the role the United States played in the 1991 Gulf War which ended Iraq's seven-month occupation of the Kuwait. The U.S. Red Cross was active in Kuwait after Iraqi troops fled the country.
