Government anti-obesity efforts

Dubai: The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) launched a two-year Ajyal Salima ‘a sound generation’ programme that tackles rising childhood obesity and promotes an active lifestyle among children. Ten government schools from a total of 29 have successfully completed the first phase.

The Health Authority Abu Dhabi (Haad) introduced Weqaya, a screening programme that identifies cardiovascular risk factors and assists in improving the health status of Emiratis and expatriates.
