Abu Dhabi: The UAE has strongly condemned a deadly terrorist attack in Pakistan’s Balochistan province, where gunmen intercepted two passenger buses and killed nine people late Thursday night.

In a statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its “strong condemnation of these criminal acts” and reaffirmed its rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism aimed at destabilising peace and security.

The Ministry extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, the government of Pakistan, and the people of the country.

Victims targeted along Quetta–Punjab route

Authorities in Pakistan recovered the bullet-riddled bodies of nine passengers abducted during a spate of bus attacks in the troubled southwestern province of Balochistan. The victims were found overnight in the mountains, officials said on Friday.

According to provincial government spokesperson Shahid Rind, the gunmen stopped two buses on Thursday evening and kidnapped the passengers. The attacks took place in the Zhob and Loralai districts, as the buses were en route from Quetta to Punjab.

Officials believe the victims were deliberately targeted for being from Punjab province. The attackers fled the scene, and a manhunt is currently underway.
