Dubai: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, hailed the young Arab generation for their unwavering pursuit of knowledge and learning, praising their ability to embrace the future while remaining deeply rooted in their language, culture and identity.
In a post on his official X account, Sheikh Mohammed announced that 32 million students from 132,000 schools across 50 countries are participating in the ninth edition of the Arab Reading Challenge.
“Arabic is an honourable language — the vessel of our culture, the symbol of our civilisation, unity, and history. The eternal Arabic language knows neither youth nor old age, as it is preserved by God’s protection,” he wrote.
Emphasising the deep importance of the initiative, Sheikh Mohammed added: “The Arab Reading Challenge is one of the projects closest to our hearts, as it instils a love of reading in the hearts of future generations.” He also celebrated the remarkable growth in participation as saying: “Proud of every student taking part. Proud of our great Arabic language. Proud of our history and identity. I am optimistic about Arab generations — renewed in thought and knowledge yet firmly rooted in their culture.”
