Red Crescent Authority donates Dh500,000 to Yemeni charities

Abu Dhabi: The UAE's Red Crescent Authority (RCA) has donated Dh500,000 in humanitarian and medical aid to a number of Yemeni charities and aid organisations, said Dr Saleh Al Taei, RCA Secretary General.

The aid, which was announced on Saturday, would help Yemen's National Cancer Foundation to buy medicines and medical equiment, he said.

Other beneficiaries include Al Thawra Public Hospital, Republican Hospital in Sana'a, Yemeni Development Foundation and All Girls Society.

"Shaikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and President of RCA, is personally following up on the Authority's humanitarian efforts and operations in Yemen, which are the culmination of the brotherly ties between the two countries and their peoples," said Al Taei.
