Abu Dhabi: The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has decided that those students who were approved for higher education studies but will be recruited for national service for the current year will retain their places at the institutions for September 2015 and can pursue their studies after completing the national service training.
Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, has said that those students who will be exempted from national service for the current year and have been approved at one of the higher education institutions must confirm their admission acceptance and complete all the required procedures.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has published names of the approved students on its website, and also sent SMS messages to all these students.
The total number of students admitted for the 2014/2015 academic year (first semester September admission) is 15,235, including 4,535 accepted for studies at the UAE University; 6,454 at the Higher Colleges of Technology; 1,745 at Zayed University; 2,182 for colleges and institutions that fall under the management of Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training, and 319 for Emirates College for Advanced Technology.
