Dubai: Redefining how dental care is delivered and experienced, Aster Clinics, a leading integrated healthcare provider under Aster DM Healthcare, has launched Smyl AI – the UAE’s first artificial intelligence-powered dental screening tool.

Available for free via WhatsApp, the dental bot aims to revolutionise how oral health is assessed and managed in the country.

Quick, easy and free dental health reports

The AI-driven platform enables users to complete a dental screening in under two minutes by answering a few simple questions and uploading three images of their teeth – upper, lower, and front. Developed in collaboration with India-based Logy.AI, the system then generates a free, personalised dental health report detecting potential concerns such as cavities, gum disease, plaque, and stains. Users can then book a consultation with one of Aster Clinic’s dental specialists for further evaluation.

'Oral health is a window to overall well-being'

The launch marks the beginning of Aster Clinics’ Smarter Smiles initiative in the UAE – aimed at raising awareness, enabling early detection, and promoting proactive dental care across the country.

“Artificial intelligence (AI) is playing an increasingly vital role in enhancing healthcare outcomes across various medical disciplines,” said Dr Sherbaz Bichu, CEO of Aster Hospitals and Clinics – UAE, Oman, and Bahrain.

“Oral health is a window to overall well-being. Yet, many residents delay dental visits due to fear, cost, or inconvenience. Our goal is to integrate technology and care – making dental assessments not only more accurate but also more approachable for families, working professionals, and communities across the UAE.”

The launch comes at a time when oral health statistics in the UAE show room for improvement. A recent survey conducted on UAE residents revealed that 80 per cent of participants suffer from dental caries, with 50 per cent visiting a dentist only when in pain, and just 20 per cent making annual dental visits.

Access via WhatsApp – With full privacy protection

Smyl AI is accessible via WhatsApp by visiting https://logy.ai/aster_clinics/ and starting a chat with ‘Hi Aster Clinics’. Users can select their preferred language, receive an instant report – free of cost. The tool is fully compliant with UAE healthcare information protection regulations and using secure, encrypted transmission protocols, Aster Clinics added in a statement.
