From morning to midnight: Fitness, fun in AC at AI Ain summer festival

Al Ain: The second edition of Al Ain Summer Sports (AASS) opened on Saturday at the ADNEC Centre Al Ain, offering an expansive air-conditioned sporting and entertainment experience for residents and visitors alike.

Running until August 18, the event was inaugurated by Arif Al Awani, Secretary General of Abu Dhabi Sports Council and Humaid Al Dhaheri, Managing Director and Group CEO of ADNEC Group. It is being organised in partnership between ADNEC Group and the Abu Dhabi Sports Council.

Open from 6 am to 1 am

Spanning more than 6,500 square metres, the venue houses 15 indoor courts and fitness zones offering 11 different sports, including football, basketball, padel, badminton, tennis, and action cricket, among others. It is open daily from 6 am to 1 am and welcomes participants of all ages to engage in sports and physical activities while adopting healthy lifestyles in a safe and comfortable indoor environment. AASS also hosts community-themed competitions, team tournaments, and specialised training programmes.

A vision for community wellness

Al Awani noted the event aims to promote active lifestyles and strengthen community bonds.

“By providing world-class sports facilities and a diverse range of activities, we aim to encourage all members of the community to engage in physical activity and prioritize fitness, especially during the summer months.”

Making fitness fun, accessible, inclusive

Echoing the sentiments, Al Dhaheri said the event has been designed to be enjoyable and accessible for families and individuals of all ages and fitness levels.

“By combining fitness with fun and accessibility, we are proud to support the UAE's ‘Year of Community’ initiative and contribute to the national vision of promoting inclusivity and active living.”

Expert coaching and skill development

AASS features specialised training programmes and professional workshops aimed at developing sports skills, raising fitness levels, and enhancing personal growth, led by certified coaches with extensive experience in sports and wellness. Additionally, ADNEC Centre Al Ain offers secure parking around the clock, healthy food and beverage trucks, special packages for groups and companies, and health and fitness facilities.

Free entry for the first three days

From July 5 to July 8, those interested in participating in the activities can register via the website or the official event app and book free entry for the first three days of the event. Additionally, one-day, three-day, and weekly packages will be available on the website for individuals, families, and participants to book easily and conveniently.
