Al Ain Sports & Cultural Club, the reigning Asian Club champions in football, have attracted sponsorship from four major Abu Dhabi and Al Ain companies for the current season.

Mohammed Rasool Khoory & Sons, Al Ain Distribution Company, Al Jaber Group and Al Gaith Holding have agreed to provide a sponsorship of one million dirhams each towards various teams of Al Ain in a one-year sponsorship deal.

Al Ain Club's Executive Committee Chairman Mohammed Khalfan Al Rumeithi signed the deals here yesterday at a press conference.

Al Rumethi inked the Dh one million deals with Yousef Mohammed Rasool Khoori which supports the under-18 football team, with Antoine Michel Chami of Al Jaber for the under-16 football team, with Ghaith Hamel Al Ghaith of Al Ghaith Holding for the under-14 team and with Ahmed Saleh Al Nayadi of Al Ain Distribution for the Handball team.

Commenting on the sponsorship Al Rumeithi said that following the peak that Al Ain reached in winning the Asian Champions League, the club was now getting the right results on the commercial and financial front.

"In fact the deals we have signed today is towards support for the under-14, under-16 and under-18 teams apart from handball," he said.

"This only reiterates our commitment to the future of football in the club. We do not want to sit back after the success of the first team. Our fans want nothing but the best and we also want to do well year after year," Al Rumethi added.

"Under the guidance of Lt. General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces and President of the Club and Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the Club we recently undertook maintenance work costing Dh 25 million.

"Among the new additions are the Sheikh Khalifa Stadium, the main building, indoor sports hall, offices, dressing rooms, clinics, gymnasium halls along with upgrading the facilities in the club's branches," said Yousef Mohammed Rasool Khoori, who is also the Marketing Co-ordinator for Al Ain Club.

"Committed to the expansion and upgrading of its services, the Al Ain Club is deeply honoured to have the valuable sponsorship of Mohammed Rasool Khoory & Sons, Al Ain Distribution Company, Al Jaber Group and Al Gaith Holding," he said.
