Dubai: Keolis MHI, the operator of Dubai Metro and Dubai Tram, has appointed Vikas Sardana as its new managing director as the company prepares for the next phase of its operations in the emirate.

Sardana, who previously served as acting managing director and chief operating officer, takes over leadership at a time when the company is advancing its 2026 strategy and continuing its long-term contract with Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).

He brings more than two decades of experience in metro rail operations across the Middle East and India. In his previous role at Keolis MHI, he oversaw day-to-day operations of Dubai’s rail network, including service delivery for millions of passengers.

Before joining the company, Sardana held senior roles in India’s metro sector, including at Mumbai Metro One and Maha Mumbai Metro, where he was involved in operations and network expansion.

Keolis MHI, a consortium of Keolis, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Engineering and Mitsubishi Corporation, has been operating and maintaining the Dubai Metro and Tram since 2021.

The appointment comes as Dubai continues to invest in public transport infrastructure to support population growth and urban mobility demand.
