Forum helps participants to discuss challenges

Dubai: Mohammad Bin Rashid Programme for Leadership Development (MBRPLD), is an innovative leadership programme designed to develop national leaders capable of promoting the sustainable development of the UAE.

It has launched the Blue Ocean Forum; a quarterly networking event that encourages participants to discuss challenges and opportunities faced by private and public sectors from a global point of view.

The Forum, co-organised with the Boeing Leadership Centre, one of the well-known international leadership centres is a central component of the Young Leaders Programme, which is a level of MBRPLD that aims to qualify young leaders through training programmes and workshops, in line with the strategic plans and aspirations of Dubai.

The Blue Ocean Forum will be held up to four times per year and is designed to strengthen the young leaders' knowledge, experience and skills in key areas of leadership and strategy; leadership policy; change leadership and management; and leadership and effective communication.

Julie Acosta, Vice President, Boeing Leadership Centre, said: "We are honoured to continue our association with MBRPLD, I haven't come across a more comprehensive leadership development programme, and the Young Leaders Programme, as we recognise that these initiatives are important career development platforms and play a pivotal role in building the next generation of leaders."

Emirati executives in the 28 - 34 age bracket are eligible to join the programme, based on strict qualification requirements including a bachelor's degree from a recognised university, proven academic excellence, strong employment potential, working knowledge in both Arabic and English, and a genuine dedication and commitment to the region's human and socio-economic progress.

Adel Al Sharid, Manager of MBRPLD, added: "Mohammad Bin Rashid Programme for Leadership Development has been mandated to help promote the advancement of the UAE's national human capital, which is undoubtedly the most important component in securing the country's long-term sustainability.

The new name of the Blue Ocean Forum reflects our renewed commitment to aligning the programme with the demands of the UAE's rapidly progressing society, and we commend the participants of Tuesday's Forum for their contributions.
