Two brothers plead guilty to drug use
Dubai: Two merchant brothers have pleaded guilty to using drugs but denied hiding opium in the air condition ducts in their flat, heard a court on Thursday.
The Public Prosecution charged the Iranian brothers, 26-year-old Q.A. and 36-year-old G.A., with consuming morphine and codeine and illegally bringing in and possessing 11.9 grams of opium. Anti-narcotics police found the opium placed in a cloth which was hidden inside the air condition ducts.
The brothers confessed to consuming drugs but they pleaded not guilty to smuggling and possessing opium when they appeared before the Dubai Court of First Instance on Thursday.
