Sharjah: Police are investigating the theft of wallets from worshippers while they were performing prayers early Friday.

The worshippers were performing Fajr prayer at a mosque located in Sharjah industrial area.

The worshippers alleged that a number of professional thieves were on the move at the time and snatched their wallets.

The worshippers lodged complaints with police saying that unidentified people stole their wallets while they were performing prayers.

An official at Sharjah Police told Gulf News that police are probing the incident.

The worshippers said that their wallets contained cash and their ID and other important documents.

Anyone with information can call Sharjah Police. All calls will be kept confidential, an official said
