Sharjah: Police have arrested three Chinese suspects accused of trading in fake car spare parts and selling them as originals, a senior official said on Sunday.
"The suspects were producing brand logos of popular vehicles and placing the stickers on them, so as to deceive customers into believing that the car parts they were purchasing were original pieces," said the police official.
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at Sharjah Police received a tip-off about a warehouse in Industrial Area 18 that was selling fake spare parts for cars, which were being sold at the original price. Police discovered there were two warehouses that were trading in fake parts. The CID team inspected the warehouse and found the suspects there. They were identified as F. Sh., and Y. Sh.,
During the probe, it was revealed the warehouse owner was also a Chinese man, identified as Y.H., he was later arrested.
