Dubai police has signed an agreement with Siemens of Germany for a new command and control centre at its new headquarters here.
The agreement is to build, activate and implement the centre. With the new facility, Dubai police will ensure its long term strategic goal of maintaining status as a modern, high-tech force.
The agreement was signed following a directive by General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, UAE Minister of Defence and head of Dubai Police and National Security.
The agreement was signed by Lieutenant General Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Dubai Police Chief, and Joachim Kundt of Siemens and Mohammad Abdul Aziz Al Muhairi, Siemens' local partner.
Lt Gen Dahi said the four-phase project would be completed in 11 months. The new centre will allow police to cover Dubai through a network of sophisticated remote cameras.
