Dubai: A shop supervisor is on trial for allegedly forging visa applications for two girls who were meant to come for training, and pocketing visa fees of Dh15,000.

Records said a Lebanese mechanic flew in the Egyptian girls for training, but they had to be flown back from Dubai International Airport when inspectors discovered that the visas were fake.

The Public Prosecution claim the 34-year-old Syrian shop supervisor forged the visa applications, issued from the Dubai Naturalisation and Residency Department, and gave them to a Lebanese mechanic who was hosting the girls for training.

The suspect was also charged with defrauding the mechanic and pocketing Dh15,000 which was given to him as visa fees.
