"Abduction" of child at a hospital in Dubai was part of a joint drill, says CID director
Dubai: The Dubai police have denied through its Twitter account rumour about a child being abducted from Latifa Hospital.
“Everything said about a child kidnapped from Latifa hospital is untrue, and it was just a joint drill by Dubai police and Latifa Hospital, which is carried out in all hospitals around the world,” Brigadier Khalil Ebrahim Al Mansouri, Director of Dubai Police’s Criminal Investigation Department, said.
He urged people not to use the social media to terrorise others and cause panic.
“We have repeatedly told people not to spread rumours and to confirm with the concerned authorities before publishing news stories,” Brig Al Mansouri said.
“The UAE will remain a safe haven for law-abiding residents, and everyone should cooperate with police to maintain security and put an end to these vicious rumours,” he added.
