The Bin Zayed Group has signed an agreement with Accpac International to develop a e-business platform for the former.

The local group owns a diversified portfolio of businesses involved in construction and real estate, trading supplies and services, financial services and project management.

The project with Accpac advantage series at its core, standardises the software applications used in each group company, and migrates the group communication to the Internet via centralised servers located in Dubai.

GTFS, a Dubai-based Accpac business partner, will implement the project. "I have continuously stressed the importance of making e-business technologies more usable and acceptable in the region and particularly in the UAE because of all the benefits that Web based technologies bring to the workplace," said Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nahyan, chairman of the Bin Zayed Group.

Accpac Advantage Series, a Web-based financial business application, will act as the nucleus for a variety of software systems integrated with the suite.

Accpac will be used individually for each business of the group, and collectively for accounting and financial reporting of the group as a whole.
