Aramex International has been appointed regional CashU card distributor by www.maktoob.com giving consumers guaranteed security for online transactions.

CashU cards allow consumers to purchase items from any website on the world wide web with zero risk and 100 per cent reliability. The prepaid cards are the safest alternative to risky credit cards eliminating the opportunity for fraudulent online transactions.

Furthermore, income details, credit checks and age restrictions are not required to obtain a CashU card. Aramex will stock CashU cards at all its stations in the Middle East for delivery to customers across the region.

"In terms of Internet usage, the Middle East is one of the fastest growing regions worldwide, and we believe that CashU cards will provide consumers with unprecedented choice, convenience and confidence when shopping online," said Fadi Chandour, president and chief executive of Aramex.

www.maktoob.com, one of the region's leading web portals accepts CashU cards as its preferred currency - all merchandise sold on the website is CashU enabled. However, consumers can also easily purchase goods from other websites with the assistance of a personal agent that CashU provides at no extra cost.

"The Middle East, in particular, has witnessed a slow development in the online shopping business since concerns over credit card fraud continue to deter shoppers," explained Samih Toukan, chief executive of Maktoob.com.

The pre-paid cards are available in three denominations - 500, 1,000 and 1,500 CashU's - equivalent to $10, $20 or $30 respectively.

Unlike most credit cards, the CashU card has no annual fee. CashU cards can be obtained from Aramex who will deliver the card.
