Hundreds attend Swami Brahmaviharidas’ address in Tbilisi and Batumi, Georgia

Swami Brahmaviharidas, Head of the BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi, has called on doctors and medical students worldwide to place purpose, resilience and compassion at the centre of healthcare.
Delivering a keynote address titled ‘ReInvent Yourself’ to more than 700 medical professionals in Georgia’s Tbilisi and Batumi, he said effective healing begins “with the healer themselves,” urging the global medical community to approach their work with deeper humanity and self-awareness.
“To truly heal a patient, a doctor must first be a healer, self-grounded in purpose, resilience and compassion,” he said, encouraging attendees to view their professional journeys as opportunities for personal reinvention.
Citing a living example of harmony and collective purpose, Swami pointed to the BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi – the region’s first traditional sandstone temple – describing it as a global symbol of unity made possible through the visionary support and generosity of the UAE leadership.
“This temple serves as a powerful metaphor for what humanity can build on a foundation of love, harmony and mutual respect,” he noted.
Among those present included Dr Goderdzi Buchashvili, Chairman of the Council of Higher and General Educational Institutions; Subbu Ramesh, Charge d’Affaires and Head of Chancery, Embassy of India in Georgia along with other Indian diplomats; Dr Gia Kavtelishvili, founder and rector of Georgian National University SEU; Dr Mukhamed Artmeladze, Rector of Avicenna Batumi Medical University and President of the Batumi Medical Center; Emzar Kakhidze, Head of the National Museum of Adjara; and Maka Kajaia, of the Mayor’s Office Cultural Department.
In addition to the two sessions, Swami and members of the temple delegation met with leaders at SEU and Avicenna University, fostering cultural, educational and spiritual exchange between the institutions.
Capping the visit, and with the blessings of Mahant Swami Maharaj, the current spiritual leader of the Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan (BAPS) Sanstha, Swami also laid the foundation for two BAPS Culture Centres in Tbilisi and Batumi, marking a lasting legacy of the trip.
