Dubai's newest retail and dining centre combines modern Dubai design with a hint of London's charm

City Walk is the newest addition to Dubai’s shopping and dining scene. The multi-million Dirham project aims to take the outside, inside, and the inside, outside. Confused? Don’t be! Here’s a glimpse of what you can expect to find.
City Walk is a self-contained shopping and dining area that is more of a community rather than a mall. It’s more of a town centre that combines Dubai with chic European fashion and a London edge.
Walk the streets without breaking out in a sweat
Underneath a glass roof, boulevards bordered by high-end franchises such as Karl Lagerfeld, Chantelle, and Ralph Lauren criss-cross in natural light and subtle air-conditioning. Step outside and you’re transported 6,000 kilometres to London, and nearly 150 years back to the age of the Victorians…
While the inside boulevards are nicely finished, it is very obvious that you’re in Dubai, so for something very different – or familiar, if you’re British – you have to go outside-outside. Not only will see a genuine Royal Mail post box, denoted “GR” from the reign of King George VI, and a traditional British red phone box, but acquainted architecture.
This Victorian "former" public house homage is eerily accurate
The buildings have been designed as homages to the late Georgian and Victorian style that gives the UK its famous urban character. One such example is of a Victorian corner building which was once a public house now serving as a restaurant. It’s eerily accurate.
Of course beyond the Bond Street tribute there is an impressive mix of modern art deco, with a supported gantry circling around the top of the central plaza. “Cooling walls” line all sides which means this will still be a pleasant destination in the height of summer.
City Walk is located on Safa Road between Al Wasl Road and Shaikh Zayed Road at the Dubai Mall interchange.
Car Parking is ample, with nearly 2000 spaces available in the underground car park. A valet service also exists Metro Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall Metro station is a five minute walk
Men, women, and child are all well-catered for. Shops include:
You won’t be going hungry at City Walk as there are plenty of restaurants and cafes for all tastes. Whether you’re looking for High Street coffee, sophisticated coffee, fine dining or just a casual bite.

You won’t get bored, either. The Green Planet is the region’s first bio-dome recreating the captivating world of a tropical forest with a rich biodiversity of over 3,000 plants and animals. There’s also a Mattel Play Town, a fun, safe and interactive indoor ‘eduplay’ attraction themed around five popular children’s characters from Mattel. Geek Nation will appeal to your inner nerd and anyone with a penchant for comics, movies or video games won’t want to miss out.
Residential buildings are nearing completion with more planned in the not-too distance future. A hotel is also planned which will likely include licensed restaurants.
