Second edition of DAR Art Fair opens

The second edition of DAR Art Fair is currently taking place in Amman, Jordan until June 7. In its second year, the event was a raging success when it launched last year.

The DAR Art Fair is being held in the Amman’s Swefieh Village, and will see as many as 15 galleries from Jordan and MENA region as participants. However, the goal of the festival is to promote emerging talents from the region and that’s their primary objective.

On display are works from over 20 artists and galleries in the region that are featured in the event. These include talent from countries such as Mauritania, and Oman, while galleries that are part of the event include: Samia Mango Collection, Fann A Porter, Jacaranda Images, Link Art Space, and Ibrahimi Collection, among others.

This year’s event is bigger than before and is sprawled across a larger area, Furthermore, and in another first for the event, is the inclusion of a curator for the event -- Abed Al Kadiri, who is a Lebanese artist. He is expected to be the artistic director for the show next year, as well. There is also a selection committee in place that picks young artists for the show.

There are two sections of the show individually dedicated to artists and galleries. The show is also promoting NFTs along with contemporary art.
