New LV Spin Time watch is lit!

Luis Vuitton launched its branded watch line, Tambour, way back in 2002. A few years down the line in 2010, the brand revealed its first in-house movement dubbed the Spin Time. What you see here is the latest iteration of the original concept – the Tambour Spin Time Air Quantum.

Aesthetically, it is a stunning piece of work with all of the hour cubes lit up by several LEDs. The user can illuminate the dial by simply pressing a button on the crown. Since the aforementioned LEDs are battery powered, this is, in essence, a watch that merges mechanical features with electronics.

The lighting system is powered by two batteries and are not expected to need a replacement before three years. However, should you be the edgy sort, there is a handy battery life indicator at the base of the crown.

While the Spin Time system of the watch has a standard minute hand, the hour is displayed through one of twelve rotating cubes that turn from yellow to black.

The 42.5 mm titanium case is finished with a matte black coating, while the dial features the LV monogram in luminous yellow. The case back meanwhile is crafted from sapphire crystal.

The Louis Vuitton Tambour Spin Time Air Quantum watch is now available for approximately AED 340,000.
