Samsung releases images of gold Galaxy S4 to follow Apple's iPhone 5S

Dubai: Images of a new gold Samsung Galaxy S4 have been released by the smartphone maker on social media.

Two new colours – gold pink and gold brown – were showcased on the official Samsung Gulf Facebook page with the caption ‘have you seen the new elegant #GalaxyS4 new #GoldEdition colours?’.

Currently they are only being shown on Samsung’s Middle East social media pages, both Facebook and Twitter. It is unclear whether the new colours will be exclusive to this market.

The move comes less than two weeks after Apple released a gold edition of the iPhone 5S, for which vendors are doing a roaring grey-market trade in the UAE.

The 16gb model, priced at $749 (Dh2,750) in the US, is selling at a reported price of Dh6,300 in the UAE for same-day delivery.
