iPhone 17 Air or Pro Max? No invites out yet, but rumour mill is on overdrive

Apple hasn’t dropped any sleek invite cards or sent mysterious or coded tweets yet.

So, no, there’s nothing “official” about the iPhone 17 launch yet.

No grand keynote confirmed. No invites with starry night skies or cryptic taglines.

Nada.

But that hasn’t stopped the internet’s favourite leakers from spilling the beans. 

Among them are Jeff Pu, Ming-Chi Kuo, Majin Bu and ViralNewsHQ.

And if their predictions pan out, like they did in the past (for the most part) the iPhone 17 Pro Max could be Apple’s most powerful and polished smartphone to date. 

Here’s what we know (or think we know):

Say goodbye to the all-glass back — the iPhone 17 Pro Max may be rocking a new aluminum-glass combo that's both sturdier and wireless-charging friendly. 

What we know about iPhone 17 Air

At just 5.5mm thick, the iPhone 17 Air is rumoUred to be the thinnest iPhone ever. If true, that’s even slimmer than Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge. 

Despite its slender profile, it boasts a spacious 6.6-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, delivering smooth visuals for gaming, browsing, and streaming. 

The device is expected to feature a titanium-aluminum frame, balancing durability with a lightweight design, tipping the scales at approximately 145g.

One of the biggest aesthetic changes? 

A possible horizontal camera layout that feels a little… Pixel-ish. Oh, and yes, Dynamic Island is still hanging around, but it might shrink thanks to new metalens tech. The phone could also bulk up a bit — all in the name of fitting a bigger battery.

Color-wise, leakers suggest a fresh Sky Blue finish is on the table. 

Under the hood: Speed, power, cool factor

Powering this beast is the upcoming A19 Pro chip, built on a cutting-edge 3nm process. 

Translation: Blazing speed and battery sipping efficiency. Backing that up: a reported 12GB of RAM, perfect for heavy multitasking and those sweet, sweet AI features Apple’s been cooking up.

There’s also talk of a vapour chamber cooling system to keep things chill while you game, edit video, or do other processor-melting tasks.

Camera upgrades

Camera nerds, rejoice. The Pro Max is tipped to sport a triple 48MP setup on the rear — with a new telephoto lens for better zoom and detail. 

Selfie game? About to level up too, thanks to a 24MP front camera. 

Oh, and dual video recording could be in the mix — film with front and back cameras at once like a content-creating wizard.

Battery, charging & connectivity

With a potentially 4,685mAh battery, the Pro Max might go harder for longer. 

Charging looks equally zippy: 25W MagSafe wireless, 15W Qi2, and even reverse charging (power your AirPods or — flex — someone else’s iPhone).

The iPhone 17 Pro Max is shaping up to be a flagship flex — bold design, monster chip, elite cameras, and next-gen charging. 

September 2025 might feel far away, but if even half of these leaks come true, this phone’s going to be the one everyone’s talking about.
