Sharjah Golf and Shooting Club hosts 12th qualifying round of 2022 Emirates NBD Race to Malaysia

56 golfers compete over 9-hole course, event sanctioned by Emirates Golf Federation

Sharjah Golf & Shooting Club hosted the 12th qualifying round of the Emirates NBD Race to Malaysia over the weekend.

56 golfers competed over the 9-hole course in two loops of nine holes in an event sanctioned by the Emirates Golf Federation.

Sam McLaren, Director of Golfing Operations said, “We really appreciate the sponsors and organisers bringing one of the UAE Qualifying Rounds of the Emirates NBD Race To Malaysia to our club - the response has been unprecedented to have a waiting list in the heat of summer and we wish our winners every success at the National Final and hope to see one of them in Malaysia.”

National Final

All the qualifiers from all the Qualifying Rounds will play in the National Final to be held at Al Hamra Golf Club, Ras Al Khaimah on Saturday 1st October, 2022.

Russell Yeomans, founder of event organiser S2B added, “Over 50,000 golfers globally will be challenging to be one of the 250 golfers in the World Final in Malaysia in November. So, thanks again for Emirates NBD and the other sponsors for bringing this globally recognised event to the UAE.”

Next week the series moves to the Emirates Golf Club for a Member’s only qualifier on Sunday 19th June followed by a Golf Society qualifier at Arabian Ranches Golf Club on Saturday June 25th open to all EGF members.

Summer break

Then the series breaks for the summer and resumes at Al Zorah Golf Club, Ajman, on September 18th 2022, followed by the final Qualifying Round at Al Hamra Golf Club on Saturday 25th September.
