Fans can apply for free electronic visas through ‘Yalla’ app
Dubai: With the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 fast approaching, Morocco has taken a major step to ease travel for football fans across the continent. The Local Organising Committee announced that electronic visas issued through the “Yalla” application will now be completely free of charge for supporters travelling to the Kingdom for the tournament.
The move, introduced in coordination with the Moroccan authorities and the Confederation of African Football (CAF), aims to remove barriers for fans eager to back their national teams during one of Africa’s biggest sporting events.
In a statement, Moroccan officials said: “Morocco has introduced free electronic visas to facilitate the movement of supporters wishing to cheer for their teams during the Africa Cup of Nations, which the Kingdom will host.”
The local committee added that obtaining the e-visa for entry into Morocco is now free via the Yalla app, noting that fans will also be required to secure a Fan ID to access stadiums. Both the electronic visa and the Fan ID can be requested directly through the Yalla application or via its official website.
The decision has been widely welcomed, with travel and football communities applauding Morocco’s efforts to ensure an accessible and fan-centred tournament. The free e-visa policy is expected to boost attendance, encourage wider participation, and reinforce Morocco’s image as a capable and welcoming host nation ahead of the long-awaited TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations.
With this initiative, Morocco signals its commitment to delivering a smooth, inclusive, and unforgettable continental championship, one where supporters from every corner of Africa can come together to celebrate the spirit of football
