Guinomla and Marcial are Masters champions in Kuwait
Dubai: The Dubai Filipino Bowling Club (DFBC) successfully defended its overall crown at the end of the 15th GCC All-Filipino Bowling Tour 2012 that concluded in Kuwait last week.
A total of four gold medals, three silver and four bronzes in five events sealed the overall crown for the DBFC to register its fourth consecutive overall championship title in-a-row, making it a total of seven titles since 2004.
The four-day event, hosted for the first time in 15 years by the Philippine Bowling Association of Kuwait (PBAK) under the leadership of Ted Yap at the Cozmo Bowling Centre, Salmiya, saw teams from Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Sharjah, Al Khobar, Jeddah and Riyadh vying for the coveted crown.
But it was the team from Dubai holding sway as they amassed a total of 41 points from its wins leaving hosts PBAK in second with 36 points and the Filipino Tenpin Bowlers of Jeddah (FTBJ) in third with 11 points.
Leading the charge for Dubai was the men’s squad led by in-form Hashim Guinomla, winning his first Masters gold medal along with 2006 Masters champion Ricky Reyes and previous team champion members Philip Raymundo and Jordan Evan.
The DFBC ladies team was equally steady with six-time Masters champion Uella Marcial, former all events and singles champion Clarisse Corpuz, two-time singles champion Elsie Marcial and team champion member Tina Tabon.
