Another Asia Cup trophy presentation controversy appeared at the presentation ceremony in Dubai, as India’s women’s team declined to receive the trophy from Asian Cricket Council (ACC) president Mohsin Naqvi after winning the Women’s Asia T20 Cup final.

India produced a dominant performance in the final to lift the trophy, but the post-match presentation was overshadowed by an unusual scene on the stage.

Indian players did not come out to receive the trophy while Naqvi and other officials waited on stage for the presentation ceremony.

The decision has drawn comparisons with last year’s men’s Asia Cup, when India’s men’s team also did not receive the trophy from Naqvi following their triumph.

Naqvi, who is also the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), was present in Dubai for the final and was expected to be part of the trophy presentation.

The incident comes after India defeated Sri Lanka in the final to claim another Women’s Asia Cup title, adding to their dominant record in the continental tournament.

The Indian team defeated Sri Lanka by 72 runs in the final to win the ACC Women’s Asia Cup 2026.
